What is the course about?

This intermediate course builds directly on the skills gained in the Beginner Sustainable Garment Construction course and is suitable for learners who already have basic sewing and garment construction experience. Learners will expand their technical abilities while developing a deeper understanding of sustainable fashion practices and responsible garment production. The course focuses on more complex construction techniques including fitting and adjusting patterns, inserting zips and fastenings, creating structured seams, and working with a wider range of fabrics and reclaimed textiles. Learners will also explore sustainable design approaches such as garment adaptation, visible mending, fabric repurposing, and designing to minimise waste. By the end of the course, learners will produce more detailed and personalised garments while building the confidence and technical understanding required to progress onto the Advanced Sustainable Garment Construction course.
