Fast Track level 2 maths is a short intensive online learning course with assessments and qualification tests at Adult Education's Old Hall Street site. Learning is online is two nights a week for 12 weeks and delivered 'live' on Teams. Interviews begin in September.

Course details

<p>This is a short 10-week online maths course is for anyone who is employed. You will already be working towards Level 2 with your number skills but need support to help you achieve a Functional Skills Maths qualification at this level. </p>

<p>Maths Functional Skills Level 2 is recognised by employers and universities nationwide. You will study numbers, fractions and percentages, ratios, measure, shape and space and how to handle data information with everyday problem solving.</p>

Course requirements

<p>You will need to attend a face-to-face skills check to find your current level and check your suitability before you can start the course and at the end you will need to attend on-site to complete the exam.</p>

<p>You will need access to a PC or laptop, the internet, camera and speaker to be able to take part in the course.</p>

<p>Once enrolled you will be given a FREE Microsoft (MS) 365 email and shown how to use it, as your online tutorials will be delivered through MS Teams.</p>

<p>You will also be given access to Maths Watch, an online platform of videos and practice activities to support you as you progress through the course. Accessing the online resources regularly is key to you learning and achieving this qualification within the given time.</p>

How will I learn?

<p>This is an online course with all learning via independent study on your computer.  You will submit assignments and get feedback from your teacher on the AEW virtual learning platform.</p>

How will my progress be monitored and assessed?

<p>Assessment takes place throughout your study in the form of online activities and tutorials. You will get weekly feedback on the work you complete (through online tutorial). You will need to sit the face-to-face exam at the end of the 10-week programme on site.</p>

Are there any additional costs?

<p>This course is free if you do not already have a Level 2 maths qualification.</p>

What qualification will I get?

<p>If you pass the exam, you will be awarded:</p>

<li>EdExcel/Pearson Functional Skills in Mathematics Level 2</li>
</ul>

What will I be able to do after this course?

<p>Upon successful completion and achievement of the qualification, your teacher will speak to you about progressing to the next level and other opportunities such as Further Education/Higher Education or other technical / vocational subjects.</p>
