What the course is about

<p>In this class, you will be able to create a variety of sewn books with a range of approaches.</p>

<p>The skills you will learn may include preparing book cloth, sewing pages and assembling a book with cover, spine and end papers.</p>

<p>You should be very pleased with the results, and you will also get plenty of ideas with which to continue with projects at home.</p>

<p>All our courses are made up of elements of speaking & listening, reading and writing, and you will work using these elements throughout the course.</p>

<p>Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.</p>

<p>This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course.</p>

<p>There are no Pre-course admission sessions or interviews in order to enrol on this course.</p>

Assessment of progress, tests, exams

<p>Your tutor will work with you to develop a Personal Development Plan (PDP) which will help you review your progress towards achieving your goals during the course.</p>

<p>There is no qualification or examination attached to this course.</p>

Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

<p>This course is suitable for beginners and intermediate crafters.</p>

Materials and costs

<p>Please bring ideas and any materials you already have that you would like to use, including thin cotton fabric. The tutor will have resources and you can discuss anything further you need at the first session.</p>

<strong>Off-site activities:</strong> with some courses, there may be the opportunity for off-site enrichment activities at additional cost, for example: gallery, museum or exhibition visits. Where this is an integral part of the course, your tutor will discuss the arrangements with you during your induction.<br />
