What the course is about

<p>If you answered yes to any of these questions, this could be the course for you. It’s a 6 -week course with no exams and focusses on building skills and confidence for people running personal finances.</p>

<p>This free course is specifically designed to cater for adults who want to improve their maths skills to help develop their financial knowledge.  The sessions will be delivered online or face to face in small groups over 6 weeks during which you will be able to set your own personal goals and targets to get to where you want to be.  As the course is tailored to meet your needs it’s appropriate for all adults requiring support with confidence and financial literacy to manage their own finances.</p>

<p>This 6-week course covers topics that are essential for managing personal finances such as money management and basic budgeting strategies.</p>

<p>Your tutors will:</p>

<li>Introduce these topics in a clear way, using examples from real life situations </li>
<li>Give lots of opportunity to apply new skills and knowledge</li>
<li>Provide regular feedback on your progress and support with any topics where you need more help</li>
<li>You will also have opportunities to move on to other maths courses when you have completed the six weeks.</li>

<p>The first session will be a chat with your tutor to find out about your learning goals and check you are on the right course for your current level before we complete your enrolment. This may include an online assessment.</p>

Assessment of progress, tests, exams

<p>There are no exams on this course although you may be expected to complete some homework tasks and assessments.</p>

<p>Your tutors will review your progress with you from time to time to make sure you are staying on track for your learning goals.</p>

Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

<p>This course is for adults (19 or older) who do not already have GCSE maths at Grade C (4) or above or an equivalent Level 2 maths qualification.</p>

<p>It is for people who want to improve their financial literacy and confidence and apply these skills to managing money.</p>

Materials and costs

<p>This course is funded by the Government’s Multiply fund. Therefore, there are no fees or charges for course materials. However, you are expected to have your own pens and pencils, paper, ruler and calculator.</p>
