What the course is about

<p>In your class, depending on your level, you will:</p>

<ul>
<li>Revise the basics of Maths including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and using multiplication tables</li>
<li>Start to use metric measures in everyday situations</li>
<li>Learn how to use tables and graphs</li>
<li>Work on problem solving skills</li>
<li>Complete classroom and homework activities to prepare you for using your maths in everyday life.</li>
</ul>

<p>We will also, where appropriate, help you to improve other skills such as English, ICT and skills needed for employability. <p>You will be required to participate in an Admission Session to attend this course. Many courses start in September, but we enrol learners at set times throughout the year. Assessment of progress, tests, exams

<p>This is a non-accredited course although you may choose to work towards a qualification at the appropriate level. With your tutor you will agree goals for you to work on in class and this will be reviewed at regular intervals.</p>

Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

<p>This course is for you if:</p>

<ul>
<li>You want to gain confidence in your maths skills</li>
<li>You want to attend a small, friendly class and work at your own pace and level</li>
<li>You want to be able to use Maths to do simple, familiar tasks in a practical way</li>
<li>You can attend every week and complete home study tasks between sessions</li>
</ul>

<p>You do not need any previous experience or qualifications in Maths to attend this course. <strong>IMPORTANT - You will be expected to attend regularly from the first session and complete any homework given. Materials and costs

<p>You will need an A4 folder, pen and paper, ruler and a calculator. <strong>The course is Government funded so there is no cost for the course.</strong></p>
