<p>You will learn about customs, culture, laws, and everyday responsibilities, helping you feel more confident living and working in the UK.</p>

<strong><u>Life, Culture and Traditions in the UK</u></strong><br />
You will learn about:</p>
<ul>
<li>Different religions practised in the UK and places of worship</li>
<li>Your right to follow any religion or none</li>
<li>Festivals and traditions such as Christmas, Easter and other celebrations</li>
<li>British customs, traditions, and everyday life</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><u>Community and Daily Life</u></strong><br />
You will explore:</p>
<ul>
<li>Popular sports and leisure activities in the UK</li>
<li>Arts, culture, and well-known British people</li>
<li>Places of interest such as museums, parks, and landmarks</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><u>Rights and Responsibilities</u></strong><br />
You will learn about:</p>
<ul>
<li>The responsibilities of people living in the UK (e.g. respecting the law and others)</li>
<li>Being a good neighbour and part of your community</li>
<li>Volunteering and helping others</li>
<li>Looking after the environment (e.g. recycling, transport)</li>
</ul>
<p><u><strong>Living and Working in the UK</strong></u><br />
You will also learn about:</p>

<li>Paying taxes and how public services are funded</li>
<li>Voting and how elections work</li>
<li>Driving rules and legal requirements in the UK</li>

<p>This is a direct enrolment course, so you do not need to attend an admissions session before starting.</p>
Assessment of progress, tests, exams

<li>There are no formal exams</li>
<li>You will build a portfolio of evidence with support from your tutor</li>
<li>Your tutor will help you collect your work to show your progress and achievements</li>
<li>You will complete activities and tasks linked to real-life situations</li>

<strong>Fully funded learners:</strong> if you have been offered a fully funded place on a course and no longer require it, you must advise us before the course starts so that your place can be offered to someone else. <strong>Home study:</strong> you will be required to do significant study at home between sessions to assist with your learning and progress.<br />

<strong>Proof of identity:</strong> please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance number with you to your first session. You will also need to provide it for any external examinations you take.<br />
<strong>Off-site activities:</strong> with some courses, there may be the opportunity for off-site enrichment activities at additional cost, for example: gallery, museum or exhibition visits. Where this is an integral part of the course, your tutor will discuss the arrangements with you during your induction.<br />
<strong>Parking at centres:</strong> parking at centres may be limited; please be prepared to use on street parking or pay and display car parks.
