<p>This course will help you improve your English so you can understand more detailed information and communicate clearly in a wider range of situations.</p>

<p>You will build confidence in speaking with others, reading different types of texts, and writing more structured sentences and paragraphs.</p>

<u><strong>Writing</strong></u><br />
You will learn how to:</p>

<ul>
<li>Plan and organise your writing</li>
<li>Write in short paragraphs with clear structure</li>
<li>Use simple and some complex sentences</li>
<li>Use correct grammar, punctuation and spelling</li>
<li>Complete forms and write for different purposes</li>
</ul>

<p><u><strong>Reading</strong></u><br />
You will learn how to:</p>

<ul>
<li>Read and understand straightforward texts</li>
<li>Identify main ideas, meaning and purpose</li>
<li>Find specific information in everyday materials</li>
<li>Understand instructions and different text types</li>
<li>Use a dictionary to find new words</li>
</ul>

<p><u><strong>Speaking and Listening</strong></u><br />
You will develop skills to:</p>

<ul>
<li>Listen for main points and detailed information</li>
<li>Follow instructions and explanations</li>
<li>Give clear information, descriptions and explanations</li>

Pre-course information session or interview

<p>Before starting the course, you will need to attend an admissions session to complete paperwork and take part in an initial assessment.</p>

Assessment of progress, tests, exams

<p>You will complete an exam for each part of the course:</p>

<ul>
<li>Reading</li>
<li>Writing</li>
<li>Speaking and Listening</li>
</ul>

<p>These exams will take place at the end of each term, and your teacher will support you with practice and feedback.</p>

Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

<p>To join this course, you should have:</p>

<p>Completed a qualification at Entry Level 2 (E2/A2) or have equivalent skills</p>

<p>It is also helpful if you:</p>

<ul>
<li>Have a good basic understanding of English</li>
<li>Are willing to learn and take part in activities</li>
<li>Want to continue improving your communication skills</li>
<li>Can attend lessons regularly</li>
</ul>

<p>You will attend an admissions session and complete an initial assessment to make sure this is the right course for you.</p>
