What the course is about

<p>There are two separate Level 2 qualifications with AAT.</p>

<p>The Level 2 Bookkeeping course  comprises two mandatory units:</p>

<ul>
<li>Introduction to Bookkeeping</li>
<li>Principles of Bookkeeping Controls</li>
</ul>

<p>The Level 2 Accounting course requires learners to achieve two additional units:</p>

<ul>
<li>Principles of Costing</li>
<li>The Business Environment</li>
</ul>

<p>This course does the two additional units above and so converts a Level 2 Bookkeeping qualifcation into a Level 2 Accounting qualifcation.</p>

<p>Everyone who chooses this course needs to have already completed the two bookkeeping units above i.e. to have completed the one of the two courses &#34;Accounting - AAT Certificate Part 1&#34; or &#34;Bookkeeping - AAT Level 2 Certificate&#34;.</p>

<p>To take this course a learner need to have already completed one of the two courses &#34;Accounting - AAT Certificate Part 1&#34; or &#34;Bookkeeping - AAT Level 2 Certificate&#34;.</p>

Assessment of progress, tests, exams

<p>Learners must successfully achieve the unit assessments &#34;Principles of Costing&#34; and &#34;The Business Environment&#34;. </p>

Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

<p>This course is for learners who have already completed one of &#34;Accounting - AAT Certificate Part 1&#34; or &#34;Bookkeeping - AAT Level 2 Certificate&#34; and wish to study two additional units to get a Level 2 Accounting qualification.</p>

Materials and costs

<p>Essential resources required to achieve your qualification</p>

<ul>
<li>A number of AAT study support materials can be accessed via the AAT Lifelong Learning Portal once registered with AAT.</li>
<li>It is an expectation that learners register as a member with AAT within four weeks of starting the course.</li>
<li>You should bring A4 paper, a folder, pens, pencils, ruler and calculator to each session.</li>
</ul>

<p>You will need access to a PC or laptop to complete homework. It will benefit your progress if you have regular and reliable access to the internet. We upload learning material and support documentation onto our Virtual Learning Environment which you will need to refer to frequently throughout your course.<br />
There may be further materials you could obtain to further support your study. You will be guided by your tutor prior to any purchase.</p>

<p>If you do not attend a pre-booked practical or theory exam, without giving the required notice, you will be invoiced for the cost. Details of the fees and cancellation notice periods required are available on request. An administration fee of £50 will be applied should you need to undertake a third attempt of either unit of the computer-based assessments</p>

We reserve the right to withdraw future offers of fully funded places if you regularly do not start or complete funded courses.<br />
<strong>Home study:</strong> you will&nbsp;be required to do significant&nbsp;study at home between sessions to assist with your learning and progress.<br />
<strong>Qualification Levels:</strong> there is further information about qualification levels on our website.<br />
<strong>Proof of identity:</strong> please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance number with you to your first session. You will also need to provide it for any external examinations you take.<br />
<strong>Off-site activities:</strong> with some courses, there may be the opportunity for off-site enrichment activities at additional cost, for example: gallery, museum or exhibition visits. Where this is an integral part of the course, your tutor will discuss the arrangements with you during your induction.<br />
<strong>Parking at centres:</strong> parking at centres may be limited; please be prepared to use on street parking or pay and display car parks.
