This is a great practical creative arts course which will introduce you to a variety of arts and crafts projects with easily available materials. Where possible we will follow the ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ ethos exploring everyday packaging materials.

What the course is about
<p>This creative course gives you the opportunity to try out fun craft projects inspired by the summer season. A chance to get creative and crafty in a friendly environment.</p>
<p>Some of the crafts/topics that may be included:</p>
<ul>
<li>Creating some small sculptures and decorative items using ecologically friendly and recycled materials, such as everyday packaging and oddments.</li>
<li>Flower hammering, also known as Hapa Zome.</li>
<li>Creating a small canvas with acrylic paints.</li>
</ul>

<p>There are no Pre-course admission sessions or interviews in order to enrol on this course.</p>
Assessment of progress, tests, exams
<p>There is no qualification or examination attached to this course.</p>
Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications
<p>This is a beginner's course, and you will be expected to have no experience in the subject.</p>
Materials and costs
<p>A sketch book or plain paper, pencil & eraser</p>
<p>Apron or cover up to protect clothes.</p>
<p>Some clean plastic and/or paper-based packaging materials to take your items home.</p>
<p>You should not wear open-toed shoes in the classroom for your own safety. Long hair must be tied back.</p>

<strong>Fully funded learners:</strong> if you have been offered a fully funded place on a course and no longer require it, you must advise us before the course starts so that your place can be offered to someone else. We reserve the right to withdraw future offers of fully funded places if you regularly do not start or complete funded courses.<br />
<strong>Home study:</strong> you will be required to do significant study at home between sessions to assist with your learning and progress.<br />

<strong>Proof of identity:</strong> please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance number with you to your first session. You will also need to provide it for any external examinations you take.<br />
<strong>Off-site activities:</strong> with some courses, there may be the opportunity for off-site enrichment activities at additional cost, for example: gallery, museum or exhibition visits. Where this is an integral part of the course, your tutor will discuss the arrangements with you during your induction.<br />
<strong>Parking at centres:</strong> parking at centres may be limited; please be prepared to use on street parking or pay and display car parks.
