Painting the Jurassic Coast & Seascapes

<p>This popular course is entirely focussed on developing techniques to paint the world-famous Jurassic coast and seascapes using a variety of medium in a relaxed and friendly environment.</p>

<p>During this course you will learn:</p>

<li>Basic drawing and painting techniques</li>
<li>How to use perspective effectively</li>
<li>Creating depth of colour that reflect nature</li>
<li>How to capture rock formations and develop texture</li>
</ul>

<p>All our courses are made up of elements of speaking & listening, reading and writing, and you will work using these elements throughout the course.</p>

<p>Some of the skills you gain on this course could help increase your opportunities for employment or working within the community. Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.</p>

<p>Practice at home and completion of homework is advisable to enhance your learning experience.</p>

<p>This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course.</p>

<p>There are no Pre-course admission sessions or interviews in order to enrol on this course.</p>

<p>Please ensure you have read and understood our STEPS guidance in order to accurately enrol upon the correct level course for you.</p>

<p>Your tutor will work with you to develop a Personal Development Plan (PDP) which will help you review your progress towards achieving your goals during the course.</p>

<p>There is no qualification or examination attached to this course.</p>

<p>This is a Beginners course, for those with no experience in the subject (or very basic knowledge) including some memory of the subject from school.</p>

<p>You will need a notebook, pen and A4 folder.</p>

<p>You should also bring any relevant art materials that you have available to the first session, but before buying expensive materials and equipment please discuss their purchase with your tutor.You will be expected to purchase your own materials as the course progresses.</p>

<p>You are advised to wear old clothes or an overall to protect your clothes.</p>

<p>Advice about appropriate choices will be given during the first session.</p>

<strong>Fully funded learners:</strong> if you have been offered a fully funded place on a course and no longer require it, you must advise us before the course starts so that your place can be offered to someone else. We reserve the right to withdraw future offers of fully funded places if you regularly do not start or complete funded courses.<br />
<strong>Home study:</strong> you will&nbsp;be required to do significant&nbsp;study at home between sessions to assist with your learning and progress.<br />

<strong>Proof of identity:</strong> please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance number with you to your first session. You will also need to provide it for any external examinations you take.<br />
<strong>Off-site activities:</strong> with some courses, there may be the opportunity for off-site enrichment activities at additional cost, for example: gallery, museum or exhibition visits. Where this is an integral part of the course, your tutor will discuss the arrangements with you during your induction.<br />
<strong>Parking at centres:</strong> parking at centres may be limited; please be prepared to use on street parking or pay and display car parks.
