What the course is about

<p>The course will provide you with a focussed introduction to painting flowers and botanical subjects in a friendly and supportive setting. The tutor will introduce topics with helpful demonstrations and examples. The aim is to guide you through the fundamental skills, technique and knowledge with a variety of fun practical exercises and projects.<br />

Topics covered may include:</p>

<p>•    Materials and equipment<br />
•    Mixing and blending colour<br />
•    The Colour Wheel<br />
•    Different applications e.g. wash, impasto<br />
•    Painting a botanical still life.</p>

<p>This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course.</p>

Assessment of progress, tests, exams

<p>Your tutor will work with you to develop an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) which will help you review your progress towards achieving your goals during the course.<br />

There is no qualification or examination attached to this course.</p>

Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

<p>This course is for those wanting to learn the basics or develop their skills in painting flowers and botanical subjects. You may have previously attended a Drawing Forals, Introductory Drawing or Painting course.</p>

•    paint set<br />
•    brushes<br />
•    watercolour<br />
•    mixed media paper</p>

<strong>Proof of identity:</strong> please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance number with you to your first session. You will also need to provide it for any external examinations you take.<br />
<strong>Off-site activities:</strong> with some courses, there may be the opportunity for off-site enrichment activities at additional cost, for example: gallery, museum or exhibition visits. Where this is an integral part of the course, your tutor will discuss the arrangements with you during your induction.<br />
<strong>Parking at centres:</strong> parking at centres may be limited; please be prepared to use on street parking or pay and display car parks.
