Acrylic Painting for Improvers

The course will introduce you to new techniques and approaches building upon your current knowledge. The tutor will provide demonstrations and examples and offer a range of subjects and starting points to take your acrylic painting to the next level.
 
Topics that may be covered are:
 
•    Colour theory in practice
•    Different acrylic painting techniques
•    Develop your existing acrylic painting skills

This is a structured course including demonstrations, group and individual coaching.
 
This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course.

There are no Pre-course information sessions or interviews in order to enrol on this course.

Your tutor will work with you to develop an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) which will help you review your progress towards achieving your goals during the course.

There is no qualification or examination attached to this course.

This course is for those who may have done a beginner's course or have tried out some basic techniques and would like to develop further.

You will need to bring the following items to your first session

•    A sketchbook 
•    Pencil
•    Acrylic Paints
•    Small selection of brushes
 
You will be expected to purchase your own materials as the course progresses. Before buying expensive materials and equipment please discuss their purchase with your tutor.

Advice about appropriate choices will be given during the first session.

You are advised to wear old clothes or an overall to protect your clothes.

Attendance: before enrolling you should ensure that you can attend all classes offered as far as possible.
Places on courses: many of our courses are in high demand. If you have been offered a place but no longer require it, please advise us immediately as you may be preventing another learner from taking the place. Where learners do not attend the first session, without having given prior notice, Skills & Learning reserve the right to offer the place on the course to another learner; you will not be eligible for a refund it it is outside of the terms outlined in our cancellation policy.
Fully funded learners: if you have been offered a fully funded place on a course and no longer require it, you must advise us before the course starts so that your place can be offered to someone else. We reserve the right to withdraw future offers of fully funded places if you regularly do not start or complete funded courses.
Home study: you will be required to do significant study at home between sessions to assist with your learning and progress.

Proof of identity: please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance number with you to your first session. You will also need to provide it for any external examinations you take.
Off-site activities: with some courses, there may be the opportunity for off-site enrichment activities at additional cost, for example: gallery, museum or exhibition visits. Where this is an integral part of the course, your tutor will discuss the arrangements with you during your induction.
