What is this course about?
<p>This on-site course supports the development of key digital skills such as using devices, creating and editing digital media, using technology to communicate, buying and transacting online, and how to stay safe and secure when using technology.</p>
Who is this course for?
<p>This course is for adult learners who need to improve their entry level essential digital skills for life and work.</p>
Are there any entry requirements?
<p>You must be aged 19 or older by the 31st of August 2023. You will start by completing initial assessments in ICT and English. Your ICT assessment and English assessments should be above Entry 2.</p>
Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?
<p>Yes. There will be an online or face to face interview with a tutor where you will review your assessments and discuss if the course will meet your needs. If the course is not suitable, the tutor will advise you on a more suitable course to apply for.</p>
How will I be taught?
<p>You will be taught in class at HALS and in online tutorials using MS Teams and using our learning platform Edmodo.</p>
What feedback will I get?
<p>You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made. You will decide individual learning goals with your tutor and see your progress over the term by keeping a folder of work</p>
Additional information
<p>You should attend all sessions of this course and complete all homework set. You should read all information prior to the sessions and install MS Teams and Edmodo onto your device.</p>
Assessment Method
<p>The tutor will conduct progress checks on your learning during the course and there will be a formal assessment at the end to enable you to gain the qualification. This will be carried out on site at HALS in Wood Green Library.</p>
Equipment Required
<p>This course will be taught on-site but you will need access to a laptop, desktop or tablet with good internet access to carry out the independent study required for this course. You will be supported to install the free software for MS Teams and Edmodo on your device.</p>
