What is this course about?
<p>The course covers a range of units: how to us a keyboard, how to manage and store information e.g. how to search the internet effectively and how to store files and folders, create and edit documents e.g. word processing, communication skill; online forms and keeping safe & responsible online.</p>
Who is this course for?
<p>This course is suitable for learners who wish to improve their understanding of digital skills for life and work.</p>
Are there any entry requirements?
<p>We require consolidated Entry 3 English or above. Before you can enrol on this course, you’ll do a English & Digital skills check. Don’t worry, this isn’t an exam. It’s for us to make sure you get your support right on the right course for your level.</p>
Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?
<p>The Assessment day will include an interview with a subject specialist who will answer your questions, It will also include a short assessment</p>
How will I be taught?
<p>You will learn safely in face-to-face classes.</p>
What feedback will I get?
<p>Your class mates and your teacher will give you feedback about your work which will help you improve. In addition your tutor will mark and give you development feedback on any homework or independent learning set for you</p>
How will I be able to give my views on the course?
<p>You will be able to give your views in a feedback form at the end of the course or directly to your tutor or a manager during the course. You may also be asked to participate in surveys for funders or Ofsted.</p>
What course can I do next?
<p>there are a variety of courses through the year which will build your basic digital skills. Once all have been completed we will support you on the next steps and potentially taking and exam based course</p>
Additional information
<p>this is a community based course for residents in this area. We want to support residents in an environmrnt they feel safe and familiar with, whilst supporting to build their digital skills, confidence and motivate them to study further.</p>
Assessment Method
<p>this course is not exam based, the tutor will assess your progress throughtout the course, by setting you homework, informal assessments and potentially project work</p>
Equipment Required
<p>You will need to come to lessons with pens, a ring binder folder, wriitng paper or a notebook. If you have access to yur own PC or laptop, that helps but the sessions will be delivered on our digital equipment.</p>
