What is this course about?
<p>This course prepares you to teach within a wide range of contexts and provides you with the essential skills on which to build a successful teaching or training career.</p>
<p>It is suitable for those looking for an introduction to teaching, whether or not you possess little or no teaching experience and may just have a desire to impart knowledge to others.</p>
<p>It is suitable for individuals who:</p>
<p>• are not yet in a teaching role</p>
<p>• are in a teaching role, or who have just started a teaching role</p>
<p>• have the potential to study at this level which has the same level of demand as that of A-levels studies</p>
<p>• want a short qualification</p>
<p>• want a qualification without a minimum teaching practice requirement</p>
<p>• may have already achieved some learning and development units that can be brought forward into this teaching qualification</p>

Who is this course for?
<p>Those who want to work within the post 19 teaching or training professions or are considering a move to this arena but require the formal initial training necessary to teach in the Further Education and Skills Sector.</p>
Are there any entry requirements?
<p>Enrolment is subject to (1) GLA-fundng eligibility being confirmed in respect of residency, income and prior attainment, and (2) initial assessments. Those accepted on the course will have demonstrated through initial assessment:</p>
<p>• Written and spoken English at Level 1 or above</p>
<p>• Digital Skills at Entry 3 or above</p>
Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?
<p>Yes</p>
How will I be taught?
<p>You will learn safely in face-to-face classes.</p>
What feedback will I get?
<p>Your class mates and your teacher will give you feedback about your work which will help you improve.</p>
How will I be able to give my views on the course?
<p>You will be able to give your views in a feedback form at the end of the course or directly to your tutor or a manager during the course. You may also be asked to participate in surveys for funders or Ofsted.</p>
What course can I do next?
<p>On successful completion, this course could lead to studying for a Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. Learners who are not yet ready to study at Level 2 could enrol on a Functional Skills English. You could also enrol on an ICT course to continue to improve your digital skills.</p>
<p>Towards the end of the course, your teacher will speak to you about your next steps in learning.</p>
Additional information
<p>As part of your course we may organise trips and othe enrichments activities to assist you with your learning. Trips/ enrichment activities are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.</p>
Assessment Method
<p>Your learning will be assessed through speaking, listening, reading and writing activities. You will take part in discussions and chats with other learners and your teacher. Your teacher will give you homework each week.</p>
<p>You will be required to successfully complete workbooks to achieve the NCFE Level 1 Award in an Introduction to Early Year's Settings and NCFE Level 1 Award in Safeguarding in a Learning Environment.</p>
Equipment Required
<p>You will need to come to lessons with pens, a ring binder folder, wriitng paper or a notebook.</p>
