English: Study Skills for Entry 3

<p>The course is about building your confidence in English at Entry Level 3. Your will gain the English skills needed at this level so that you can progress to an exam based, Functional Skills in English course, in future, when you have developed your skills.</p>

<p>The course is for learners who would like to build their confidence in English at Entry level 3.</p>

<p>You must be 19 or over on 31st August 2026, to apply. Enrolment is subject to GLA-funding eligibility being confirmed in respect of residency, income and prior attainment, and initial assessments.</p>

<p>You will have a skills check with your subject tutor, before you enrol. This will help us to establish your current level of English so that you can be placed in the right class, for your level.</p>

<p>You will be taught safely in face to face lessons.</p>

<p>Your tutor will work closely with you and will give you feedback on tasks, activities and homework, throughout the course. This will help you to improve your reading and writing.</p>

<p>You will be able to give your feedback in a feedback form at the end of the course. You may also be asked to give feedback for the funders and for Ofsted.</p>

<p>You can continue your journey to learn English at higher levels as you progress. You can progress to Maths and IT/Digital courses that are offered at the centre or to one of our Career Development or Pathways to Employment courses.</p>

<p>You will be assessed throughout the course, through class activities, tasks and homework.</p>

<p>You will be asked to bring a folder, writing paper and pens to lessons, to learn effectively and well.</p>
