What is this course about?
<p>English qualifications are essential for getting a good job or for moving on to further study. We offer a range of part time English non-accredited and accredited Functional Skills courses at Entry levels, Level 1 and Level 2. Courses are classroom based.</p>
Who is this course for?
<p>This course is for learners who would study towards achieving a Functional Skills qualification at Level 1.</p>
Are there any entry requirements?
<p>You must be aged 19 or over by 31st August 2025. Enrolment is subject to GLA funding eligibility being confirmed in respect of residency, income, prior attainment and a skills check. The skills check is not an exam. It's for you to make sure you get on the right course at your current level.</p>
Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?
<p>You will have a skills check with one of the course tutors before you can enrol.</p>
How will I be taught?
<p>You will be taught in face to face lessons in the classroom.</p>
What feedback will I get?
<p>Your teacher will give you feedback about your work and your progress on the course, which will help you improve.</p>
How will I be able to give my views on the course?
<p>You will be able to give your views in a feedback form at the end of the course or directly to your tutor or manager during the course. You may also be asked to participate in surveys for funders or Ofsted.</p>

Assessment Method
<p>Your tutor will assess your progress throughout the course, by setting you homework and informal assessments. The final assessment will be an exam through which you will gain a qualification, if successful.</p>
Equipment Required
<p>You will need to come to lessons with pens, a ring binder folder, writing paper or a notebook. If you have access to your own PC or laptop, that helps but our digital equipment can be used when needed.</p>
