Course details

<li>The Level 2 Certificate in BSL builds on Level 1 skills and develops learners’ ability to participate in longer, more varied and more detailed conversations in British Sign Language.</li>
<li>Designed for learners who want to improve communication with Deaf people in everyday, social, community or work situations.</li>
<li>Provides intermediate skills in both BSL understanding (receptive) and production (expressive).</li>
</ul>

Course requirements

<ul>
<li>You must be aged 19 or over.</li>
<li>An initial assessment will ensure you join the right level.</li>
<li>Completion of Level 1 Award in British Sign Language (recommended)</li>
<li>Suitable for adults with a working knowledge of basic BSL wishing to progress to the next level.</li>
<li>Learners must have adequate vision, dexterity and facial expression skills needed for BSL communication</li>
<li>Regular attendance and independent practice recommended.</li>
</ul>

<li>Practice in presenting information, asking and answering questions, and engaging in conversational BSL.</li>
<li>Independent study using BSL videos, vocabulary practice and homework</li>
</ul>

How will my progress be monitored and assessed?

<li>Internally assessed by your tutor and externally verified.</li>
<li>Assessment includes practical demonstrations and conversations in BSL.</li>
<li>No written exam required—assessment is entirely practical.</li>
</ul>

Are there any additional costs?

<li>Course fees may apply, depending on eligibility.</li>
<li>No specialist equipment required.</li>
<li>You may wish to bring basic stationery.</li>
</ul>

What qualification will I get?

<p>Signature Level 2 Certificate in British Sign Language (RQF)</p>

What will I be able to do after this course?
