Who is the course for
<p>For parents/carers who have children aged 0-5. This is an adults only session and not suitable for young children to come along to. </p>
What skills, knowledge or experience do I need to start this course
<p>No previous knowledge required. </p>
How will my progress be assessed?
<p>The tutor will ask you to complete a short questionnaire at the end of the session to get your feedback. The tutor will also give you guidance throughout the session and answer any questions you may have. </p>
What will the course cover?
<p>Do you know how to best prepare your child for Primary School? Join us for an informative workshop that aims to introduce you to what it truly means for your child to be "school ready." </p>
<p>We’ll explore the concept of 'School Readiness'—what it really means and why it’s so important. You’ll learn about the key developmental milestones that occur in your child's Early Years and how these milestones contribute to the behaviours and characteristics of a 'school ready' child. We’ll also share practical strategies and resources you can use at home to support your child’s development. </p>
<p>By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of the key skills that will hopefully support your child when they start Primary School and what you can do together to prepare for this. We will also share further Family Learning courses and sessions that can support you on this exciting journey. </p>
How will I be taught?
<p>Sessions will be delivered by a tutor in a small group. </p>
What will I need to bring?
<p>You may like to bring a notebook and pen to take notes throughout the session.</p>
Will I get a qualification?
<p>No.</p>
What will I be able to do after this course?
<p>You will have a deeper understanding about what ‘School Readiness’ is and how to support your child prepare for starting school at home. You will also have the opportunity to sign up to further Family Learning courses that will support you and your child in your ‘school readiness’ journey. </p>
