Who is the course for

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Parents, carers and their preschool children (ages 18 months –5) who want to learn, play, and grow together in a supportive, friendly environment.</span></span></p>

What skills, knowledge or experience do I need to start this course

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">No prior skills or knowledge needed.</span></span></p>

How will my progress be assessed?

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">You will be asked to complete a ‘Getting to know you’ form before your session, followed by a quick questionnaire at the start and end of the course to show what you enjoyed, learnt and found helpful. The tutor will also give you guidance throughout the sessions and answer any questions that you may have. </span></span></p>

What will the course cover?

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">A fun, interactive course for parents and preschool children to learn and grow together! Through playful, hands-on sessions, families explore key early learning areas including emotional literacy, early number skills, motor development, healthy eating, oral health, and communication. Each week combines engaging activities for children with practical strategies for parents, helping you support your child’s confidence, wellbeing, and school readiness—one playful step at a time.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><strong>Emotional Literacy</strong></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Children explore feelings through stories, play, puppets, and movement. Parents learn techniques to help their child understand and express emotions, develop empathy, and build self-regulation skills.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><strong>Early Number Skills Through Play</strong></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Playful, hands-on activities help children build strong early number foundations, including counting, recognising numerals, comparing quantities, subitising, and understanding “more”, “less”, and simple number relationships.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><strong>Gross and Fine Motor Skills</strong></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Sessions use fun physical play to support coordination, balance, and strength, alongside hands-on craft and sensory activities to develop fine motor control and early mark-making skills.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><strong>Healthy Eating</strong></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Families explore positive food habits through simple food prep activities, sensory tasting opportunities, and games. The course encourages healthy relationships with food and empowers parents with practical tips for supporting balanced eating at home.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><strong>Oral Health & Hygiene</strong></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Through stories, role-play, and interactive demonstrations, parents and children learn the importance of brushing, regular dental routines, and healthy habits that protect little teeth.<strong><u>. </u></strong></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><strong>Speech, Language & Communication</strong></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Calibri&#34;,sans-serif">Songs, rhymes, conversations, and imaginative play help boost vocabulary, listening, following instructions, and early social communication. Parents gain tools to support language development naturally throughout the day.</span></span></p>

How will I be taught?

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="color:black">The sessions will be delivered by a tutor in a small group.</span></span></span></p>

What will I need to bring?

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">You do not need to bring anything, we will provide all of the resources and activities and each session will include a hand out to take home. </span></span></p>

Will I get a qualification?

<p>No.</p>

What will I be able to do after this course?

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Parents will leave each session with practical, easy-to-use strategies that can be woven into everyday routines to support their child’s development. Alongside learning how play builds confidence and key skills in areas like emotions, number, communication, and motor development, parents gain a deeper understanding of how their child learns best. Every session includes a take-home handout with simple ideas, activities, and story recommendations, giving parents the tools to continue the learning at home and feel more confident supporting their child’s growth.</span></span></p>
