What is the course about?
<p>Functional Skills qualifications in English are ideal for learners wishing to develop practical, transferable skills in English in order to work confidently, effectively and independently in life. Learners will complete an initial assessment of their skills to ensure they are enrolled on the correct level of course. These qualifications are assessed via controlled assessments which cover reading, writing and speaking & listening.</p>
<p>Each course will support learners to develop their knowledge and skills and support progression onto a higher level course, including GCSE English or Functional Skills in English. For more information, please email acl@Swindon.gov.uk </p>
<p>You will be asked to complete a skills assessment prior to joining this course. This is to ensure this is the best course for you.</p>
Who is the course for?
<p>Any Adult aged 19+ who lives in Swindon, with no prior English qualifications You will require good conversational English, if English is not your first language, to join this course,</p>
What will I achieve?
<p>This is the first step towards gaining a formal qualification in English, this course covers skills in reading, writing as well as speaking and listening.</p>
