What is the course about?
<p>These courses will help you gain confidence in English and develop skills for everyday life and work.</p>
<p>If you find English challenging or need to gain your english qualification for work, these courses could be for you. </p>
<p>Our Functional Skills courses range from Entry Level to Level 1. We will work with you to understand your current skill level to ensure you are enrolled on the correct level of course.</p>
<p>Our Functional skills courses usually run for one 5 hour session a week for 12 weeks.</p>

Who is eligible for this course?
<p>This course is for eligible adults aged 19+ who live in Swindon and who do not hold an Entry Level 3 or higher qualification in English. More information on the eligibility criteria is available using this link <a href="https://tinyurl.com/4s3rwdyh">https://tinyurl.com/4s3rwdyh</a></p>
What will I learn?
<p>By the end of this course, you will be able to demonstrate your competence in English by using it in familiar situations at the appropriate level for the course: this includes:</p>
<p>-Speaking, listening and communication</p>
<p>- Reading</p>
<p>- Writing</p>
What materials do I need?
<p>Everything is provided but we would recommend that you bring a pad to take notes.</p>
How will I be assessed?
<p>You will complete an end of course exam to assess your reading and writing skills and take part in a 1:1 speaking, listening and communicating assessment with your tutor. You will be given support to prepare for these assessments.</p>
What can I do next?
<p>You will receive information and advice about your next steps that could include further learning, volunteering or routes into employment.</p>

<p>We will assess your current skills to make sure you join the correct level course.</p>
How will you learn?
<p>You will join a small group in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, with interactive learning through discussions, quizzes, hands-on exercises, presentations and videos, as well as independent work.</p>
