What is the course about?

<p>This Entry Level 2 English Functional Skills qualification course aims to enable you to develop confidence and fluency in English. It is designed to ensure you are able to read, write, speak, listen and communicate in English, and to apply this knowledge and these skills in familiar situations appropriate to the level of the course.</p>

We will work with you to understand your current skill level to ensure you are enrolled on the correct level of course.</p>

Who is eligible for this course?

<p>This course is for eligible adults aged 19+ who live in Swindon and who do not hold an Entry Level 3 or higher qualification in English. More information on the eligibility criteria is available using this link <a href="https://tinyurl.com/4s3rwdyh">https://tinyurl.com/4s3rwdyh</a></p>

Please note that this course is not suitable for those who want to learn to speak English, please see our English for Speakers of Other Languages courses.</p>

What will I learn?

<p>By the end of this course you will be able to demonstrate your competence in English by using it in real life situations as well as demonstrating a sound grasp of basic English knowledge and skills; this includes:</p>

<li>Speaking, listening and communicating</li>
<li>Reading</li>
<li>Writing</li>
</ul>

What materials do I need?

<p>Everything is provided but we would recommend that you bring a pad to take notes.</p>

How will I be assessed?

<p>You will complete an end of course exam to assess your reading and writing skills. Your speaking, listening and communicating skills will be assessed via   a short presentation and taking part in a small  group discussion. You will be given support to preapre for these assessments.</p>

What can I do next?

<p>You will receive information and advice about your next steps that could include further learning, volunteering or routes into employment.</p>

How will you learn?

<p>You will join a small group in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, with interactive learning through discussions, quizzes, hands-on exercises, presentations and videos, as well as independent work.</p>
