What is the course about?

<p>This workshop, led by two assistant educational psychologists from Swindon Borough Council, will explore what school transitions are, why they matter, and how change can affect children emotionally, especially when anxiety is involved. We’ll look at how parents can gather helpful information, understand what their child might be experiencing, and use simple, practical strategies at home to help them feel more settled and confident during times of change. If you’d like to feel better equipped to support your child through upcoming transitions, this session may be a good fit for you.</p>

Who is eligible for this course?

What will I learn?

<p>By the end of the course, you will:<br />
- improve your understanding of how school transitions can effect your child emotionally<br />
-be more confident using simple startegies to help them to manage their worries and cope with change</p>

What materials do I need?

<p>Everything is provided but you may choose to bring a pad and pen to make notes.  Please remember it is an online course and you will need access to the internet.</p>

How will I be assessed?

<p>Your progress will be assessed through informal group and individual activities such as discussions.</p>

What can I do next?

<p>You will receive information and advice about your next steps that could include further learning, volunteering or routes into employment.<br />
