What is the course about?

<p>This is a beginners course  English for those who speak another first language and want to learn English.</p>

<p>This course is for people who have no or very low English speaking and listening skills. <br />
 </p>

Who is eligible for this course?

What will I learn?

<p>You will learn how to listen, understand and say simple words and sounds in English including:</p>

<ul>
<li>Making and responding to simple greetings</li>
<li>Understanding and clearly answering very simple questions</li>
<li>Asking very simple questions and understanding very simple answers</li>
<li>Following and giving very simple instructions</li>
</ul>

What materials do I need?

<p>Everything is provided but you may choose to bring a pad and pen to make notes.</p>

How will I be assessed?

<p>You and your tutor will agree some targets for you to aim for. Your tutor will support you to achieve your target and discuss how you are doing as the course progresses.</p>

What can I do next?

<p>You will receive information and advice about your next steps that could include moving onto the next level ESOL course.</p>

Please note:

<p>You will have either a face to face or over the phone assessment (often supported by a family members or a referrer) to make sure you join the correct level course.</p>

How will you learn?

<p>You will join a small group in a friendly and supportive environment. Interactive learning will take place through discussions, group work, videos and hands-on practice of different tools and techniques.</p>
