What is the course about?

<p>This course is for people who already have some basic cooking skills but want to develop their confidence to cook more. It aims to develop your knowledge and skills to be able to plan and create healthy and affordable home cooked food using a range of cooking skills and techniques for example batch cooking and meal planning.</p>

<p><strong>*PLEASE NOTE: Courses that are held at Gorse Hill Baptist Church or Enterprise Works involve the use of induction hobs, so may not be suitable for learners who have pacemakers or insulin pumps. If you think you may be affected, please contact us and we may be able to suggest alternative courses.*</strong></p>

Who is eligible for this course?

What will I learn?

<p>By the end of this course you will:</p>

<p>•    Be able to prepare and cook dishes using a range of skills and equipment<br />
•    Understand the benefits of planning ahead to save money <br />
•    Understand how cooking can support your health and wellbeing</p>

What materials do I need?

<p>Everything is provided but you may choose to bring a pad and pen to make notes.</p>

How will I be assessed?

<p>Your progress will be assessed through seeing you cook in the classroom, tgroup discussions and your oen self-assement of your skills. </p>

What can I do next?

<p>You will receive information and advice about your next steps that could include further learning, volunteering or routes into employment.</p>
