What the course is about

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">The course aims are:&nbsp;</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"></p><ul><li><span lang="EN-US">To understand the roles and responsibilities in relation to teaching.</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US">Understand the appropriate teaching and learning approaches within the leaner's specialist working area.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US">Plan deliver and evaluate micro teaching sessions or assessed practice in a real work environment.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US">Understand the use of assessment methods and record keeping&nbsp;</span></li>The taught course is usually programmed over 10 sessions (30 hours), there are 3 additional,optional tutorial sessions.&nbsp;&nbsp;Learners are encouraged to base their coursework on their workplace experiences, work products can be used as supportive evidence. &nbsp;There are 3 Units for this qualification and a work book is provided for each. &nbsp;Completion of the workbook is done outside of the taught time.&nbsp;
It is the employer’s discretion to allocate study time, however as a guide it is normal for an employer to allocate 3 hours per work book for individual study.&nbsp; The taught programme attendance time can be regarded as work hours or a blend, this must be agreed between student and employer prior to enrolment.<br><p></p></ul>

Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Learners must be 19+ and meet a minimum core of literacy, numeracy, language and ICT, this will form part of the pre course preparation. The course is suitable for learners who want to work as teachers/trainers/facilitators in community education, further education and skills sector, or learners who are not in a teaching/training role or who have just started teaching/training role.</span></p>

Assessments, tests, exams

Line managers are asked to provide feedback on learner’s progress in the work place, a pro forma is supplied for this.&nbsp;Regular interest in the students learning and application of the course through supervision&lt;

Assessment Method

<p class="MsoNormal">Learners are allocated an assessor and are encouraged to communicate regularly on submitted assignments, to gain full support with their work.&nbsp;</p>
