Improver Handbuilding Pottery Course – Sculpting and Decorating Animals

<p>Inspired by ancient and modern ceramics, students will learn how to build their own sculpted animal characters and to decorate them over this five-week course. We will look closely at contemporary artists who are interpreting traditional decoration in their own style. We will cover different approaches to sculpture and work with slips and underglazes to create sgraffito designs. Students will be guided through the process of sculpting, hollowing out and decorating their work. All pieces made by learners are for them to keep at the end of the course. (Please do not enrol if you are not able to attend all five weeks).</p>

<p>This course is suitable for those with experience in hand building with clay.</p>
