Description
Formerly known as the foundation food hygiene training this course was designed for food handlers in the catering industry. This food safety course is designed to allow learners to understand and comply with the latest legislation and their legal obligation for catering training to ensure that food is prepared, cooked and handled in a safe and hygienic manner to comply with food hygiene standards.
What can students expect?
Learn why food safety is important.
Look at what food illnesses are and how they impact us from a personal and legal responsibility.
How food becomes contaminated and how hygiene risks arise and can be prevented.
Keeping premises and equipment hygienic and ensuring pest free conditions for food caterers.
Analyse the importance of personal hygiene and why it is so important when working with food.
How to control food safety hazards using a food safety management system.
Teaching method/style?
You will learn using a combination of working in groups and on an individual, one-to-one basis through practical activities and demonstrations. Learning Plans will record your progress and achievement.
