Description

<p>This 4-day course will give you the opportunity to access employment pathways across the wider charity and voluntary sector while building practical workplace skills and confidence. </p>

<p>During the course, you will learn about different aspects of charity work, including the importance of safeguarding, codes of conduct, and health and safety in the workplace. </p>

<p>You will explore the wide range of roles available across the charity and voluntary sector, and have the opportunity to complete a work placement rotation across different departments at High Trees and/or partner organisations. Placement opportunities may include youth work, administration, teaching, community action, facilities, operations, and reception, helping you gain valuable hands-on insight into the sector. </p>

<p>As part of the course, you will practice your interviewing skills and learner about STAR technique, taking part in mock interviews. This will help you build confidence, practising answering common interview questions, and preparing for real recruitment processes. </p>

<p>In addition, you will be offered access to our Job Club, with weekly application support and targeted employability guidance in collaboration with the Employment Team. This will help ensure you are well prepared for interviews and supported in progressing into roles within the charity and voluntary sector. </p>

<p>This course is open to adults who are resident in Lambeth and who are interested in this subject area.   </p>

What is the progression route?

<p>At the end of this course, you will be offered a work placement at High Trees or at another VCS organisation. You will be offered ongoing employment support or the opportunity to do a course to improve your skills further. </p>
