Do you want to be able to speak more confidently in public? Would you like to improve your ability to deliver presentations, succeed at interviews or contribute to meetings? Join us on this short course to unlock your potential as a public speaker!
What can students expect?
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
Identify 3 features of a confident speaker
Analyse the importance of body language in public speaking
Express your opinions effectively on a given topic
Deliver a successful presentation using appropriate body language
Practise public speaking whilst being recorded (on an iPad)
Use a digital platform (Computer, Laptop, iPad, to research different methods and techniques)
Teaching method/style?
You will learn using a combination of working in groups and on an individual, one-to-one basis through practical activities and demonstrations. Learning Plans will record your progress and achievement. You will also use iPads to research and record yourself and others.
What is the progression route?
You will be offered advice and guidance during the course on what you could do next. For example, you could progress to an accredited course in ICT, a Level 1 Award in Community Development with High Trees, a Level 3 Award in Education and Training or onto a Level 2 in Housing and Communities.
Are there any costs?
Free if you are a UK/EU resident, registered unemployed and in receipt of a means-tested benefit except child tax credit.
Otherwise there may be a small fee to pay.
