Learn ways to help your child develop their reading, writing and literacy skills in a fun and creative environment.
What can students expect?
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
Use phonics to support your child with reading and writing.Use an effective reading method during a session with your child e.g. Pause, Prompt and Praise.Use grammar and spelling methods to use to aid a piece of your child’s writing. Create an activity that you can use with your child.
Teaching method/style?
You will learn using a combination of working in groups and on an individual, one-to-one basis through practical activities and demonstrations. Learning Plans will record your progress and achievement.
How will the course be assessed?
Your tutor will give you feedback throughout the course and you will get the opportunity to complete an end of course evaluation form.

You will be offered advice and guidance during the course on what you could do next. For example, you could progress to onto an accredited course or an ICT course.
