What is this course about?
<p>This course will show you how to use social media confidently and effectively to promote a business or improve your employability. You will explore how different platforms work, how businesses use them to attract customers, and how to create content that builds awareness, trust, and engagement.</p>
Who is the course for?
<p>This course is ideal for anyone who wants to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Promote their own business using social media, or</li>
<li>Improve their chances of employment in a role where social media is used to increase sales, visibility, or brand awareness.</li>
</ul>
<p>No prior marketing experience is needed.</p>
Any previous experience/qualifications you need to do the course
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Source Sans Pro",sans-serif">A basic level of conversational and written English is required plus basic computer skills. </span></span></p>
What you need to bring with you
<p>Learning resources will be provided through <strong>Google Classroom</strong>, giving you access to course materials and activities between sessions.</p>
How you will be assessed
<p>Assessment is informal and supportive. You will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Take part in questions and discussions during sessions</li>
<li>Complete a short weekly learner reflection to help you track your progress and learning</li>
</ul>
<p>Each week you will be set a practical task. How much time you spend on this is up to you, but the more time you invest, the more confident and skilled you will become.</p>
How much studying will I need to do outside the lesson?
<p>You should allow <strong>1–2 hours per week</strong> to practise the skills covered in class. This might include experimenting with social media platforms or completing a small weekly task.</p>
