First Steps to Working in Early Years

<p>Thinking about working with young children? This welcoming and practical introduction will give you a real insight into life in an early years setting such as a nursery or pre-school.</p>

<p>Over five weeks, you’ll explore how babies and young children learn, grow and develop, and discover what it’s really like to support them day-to-day. You’ll also gain a clear understanding of the important roles and responsibilities involved in childcare – whether you’re considering volunteering or employment.</p>

<p>As part of the course, you’ll build your confidence and take your first steps towards a career in early years. You’ll learn how to search for opportunities, complete application forms successfully, and present yourself positively to employers.</p>

<p>This course is ideal for adults who are curious about working or volunteering in early years settings and want to explore whether it’s the right path for them.</p>

<p>Assessment is through <strong>weekly learner reflections</strong>, helping you recognise your progress and achievements.</p>

<p>Optional activities will be suggested if you’d like to extend your learning further.</p>
