Sewing for Beginners

<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Source Sans Pro&#34;,sans-serif">This course will take you from the very basics, such as setting up your sewing machine and discovering what the knobs do. You will also practice your skills by sewing four basic projects including bunting and a draw string bag.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Source Sans Pro&#34;,sans-serif">This course is aimed at people who have little or no knowledge of how to use their sewing machine and how to sew using a machine. It can also serve as a refresher for those who used to sew.  </span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Source Sans Pro&#34;,sans-serif">A basic level of conversational and written English. Reasonable motor skills, as you will need to be able to manipulate fabric and tools. Plus, you will need a working sewing machine and basic tools and materials.   </span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Source Sans Pro&#34;,sans-serif">Face to Face sessions: We have a small selection of fabric for students to choose from plus a range of tools that can be used during the session. If you do not have a sewing machine, we have some available to borrow during the session. If there are more students wishing to borrow a machine than machines then students may have to share. </span></span></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Source Sans Pro&#34;,sans-serif">Remote sessions: Students will need to provide all materials and tools to complete the project being created. A material listing will be provided prior to the start of the course. We also suggest items you would normally throw away so reduce costs and be sustainable.</span></span></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Source Sans Pro&#34;,sans-serif">Through questions and answers, the completion of weekly learner reflection forms and a sample of your work completed during the session.</span></span></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Source Sans Pro&#34;,sans-serif">You will need to spend an hour or so per week to prepare your fabric for the following week. </span></span><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Source Sans Pro&#34;,sans-serif">The amount of time practising is totally up to you but the more you put in, the more you will get out of this course.</span></span></span></span></p>
