What is this course about?
<p>This course is about developing the appropriate mindset for future employment and about developing maths skills, digital competencies and communication skills that are essential at the workplace.</p>
Who is this course for?
<p>The course is for learners who would like to develop employability skills and develop Maths, Digital and Communication skills that would make them better prepared for future employment.</p>
Are there any entry requirements?
<p>You must be aged 19 or over by 31st August 2026 to join a course. Enrolment is subject to (1) GLA-funding eligibility being confirmed in respect of residency, income and prior attainment, and (2) initial assessments. Your tutor will conduct a skills check before you are enrolled.</p>
Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?
<p>You will have an interview with your tutor to determine your current level of Maths and Digital skills.</p>
How will I be taught?
<p>You will be taught safely in face to face lessons.</p>
What feedback will I get?
<p>Your tutor will work closely with you and will give you feedback on tasks and activities throughout the course.</p>
How will I be able to give my views on the course?
<p>You will be able to give your views on the course by completing a feedback form at the end of the course. You may be asked to give feedback to the funders or to Ofsted.</p>
What course can I do next?
<p>We offer a range of English, Digital and Maths courses at Haringey Learns, that you can progress into, at the end of this course. You can also study one of our career development courses or one of our Employability Pathways course.</p>
Assessment Method
<p>You will develop a portfolio of evidence as part of completing the Award in Employability Skills. On successful completion of the portfolio of evidence, to the standard of the awarding organisation, you will acquire the above qualification. In addition, your tutor will assess your work through tasks and activities in lessons and for homework, so that you are on track to achieve the qualification.</p>
Equipment Required
<p>You will be asked to bring a folder, writing paper and pens, to lessons. At the centre, you will have access to laptops that you will use during lessons. </p>
