What is this course about?

<p>The Level 2 Introduction to Counselling qualification gives learners the opportunity to investigate the knowledge and skills needed to use counselling skills and engage in a helping interaction appropriately.</p>

<p>This qualification does not qualify learners to practise as a counsellor.</p>

Who is this course for?

<p>This qualification does not lead directly to an employed role. However, it could enhance an existing role or increase the general employability of those seeking to enter the job market. This course is for learners who are interested in building a career, using counselling and related skills.</p>

Are there any entry requirements?

<p>&#34;You must be aged 19 or over by 31st August 2026 to join a course.</p>

<p>Enrolment is subject to (1) GLA-fundng eligibility being confirmed in respect of residency, income and prior attainment, and (2) initial assessments. Those accepted on the course will have demonstrated through initial assessment: <br />
•    Written and spoken English at Level 1 or above<br />
•    Digital Skills at Level 1 or above</p>

<p>You must be aged 19 or over by 31st August 2025, to join a course. Enrolment is subject to GLA funding eligibility rules. This course is being offered as part of an employability offer and so the course is being offered free of charge. If you are assessed as eligible for the course, there will be no fee attached to the course.</p>

Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?

<p>Yes</p>

How will I be taught?

<p>You will be taught in face to face lessons at Haringey Learns.</p>

What feedback will I get?

<p>You will get regular feedback from your tutors about your work, which will support the development of your knowledge and skills.</p>

How will I be able to give my views on the course?

<p>You will be able to give your views in a feedback form at the end of the course or directly to your teacher or manager, during the course. You may also be asked to participate in surveys for funders or Ofsted.</p>

What course can I do next?

<p>On successful completion, this course could lead to studying for the CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills. You could also enrol on an ICT course to improve your digital skills. The counselling, digital and employability skills gained through this course will help you to explore a career in counselling, in future.         </p>

Assessment Method

<p>Your learning will be assessed through speaking, listening, reading and writing activities. You will take part in discussions and chats with other learners and your teacher.  Your teacher will give you homework each week.</p>

<p>You will be required to successfully complete workbooks to achieve the CPCAB Level 2 Award in Introduction to Counselling Skills (RQF).</p>

Equipment Required

<p>You will need to come to lessons with pens, a ring binder folder, writing paper or a notebook.</p>
