What is this course about?

<p>This Level 1 qualification introduces the role of a bookkeeper and the underpinning knowledge to identify and carry out simple different bookkeeping activities, such as income and expenditure, profit and loss, and assets and liabilities. It also offers an introduction into the role, and the benefits and risks associated with bookkeeping software.</p>

<p>There is no need for any prior accounting or bookkeeping knowledge</p>

<p>We deliver this course for 3.5 hrs a session over two days a week for 11 weeks online</p>

<p>On successful completion you will gain the Level 1 AAT Award in Bookkeeping. It provides a solid grounding for students before moving on to the Level 2 qualifications.</p>

Who is this course for?

<p>• People interested in becoming a cashier, clerical assistant or trainee bookkeeping assistant,</p>

<p>• or someone who wants the basic for personal use.</p>

Are there any entry requirements?

<p>You must be aged 19 and over by the 31st of August 2025 and be eligible for publicly funded courses. Enrolment is subject to (1) GLA-fundng eligibility being confirmed in respect of residency, income and prior attainment, and (2) initial assessments. Those accepted on the course will have demonstrated through initial assessment:</p>

<p>• Written and spoken English at Level 1 or above</p>

<p>• Digital Skills at Level 1 or above</p>

<p>• Maths skills at consolidated Entry 3 or above</p>

Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?

How will I be taught?

<p>You will learn safely online via teams.</p>

What feedback will I get?

<p>Your class mates and your teacher will give you feedback about your work which will help you improve.</p>

How will I be able to give my views on the course?

<p>You will be able to give your views in a feedback form at the end of the course or directly to your tutor or a manager during the course. You may also be asked to participate in surveys for funders or Ofsted.</p>

What course can I do next?

<p>On successful completion, this course could lead to studying for Level 2 AAT Bookkeeping and/ or Functional Skills maths and English qualifications. You could also enrol on an ICT course to improve your digital skills.</p>

<p>Towards the end of the course, your teacher will speak to you about your next steps in learning.</p>

Additional information

<p>As part of your course we may organise trips and othe enrichments activities to assist you with your learning. Trips/ enrichment activities are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.</p>

Assessment Method

<p>Your learning will be assessed through speaking, listening, reading and writing activities. You will take part in discussions and chats with other learners and your teacher. Your teacher will give you homework each week.</p>

<p>Towards the end of the course you will need to sit an online exam and be successful to achieve the AAT Level 1 Award in Bookkeeping.</p>

<p>You will need to come to lessons with pens, a ring binder folder, wriitng paper or a notebook.</p>
