United Queerdom Life After Receiving Refugee Status

<p>United Queerdom is a group of queer Russian speakers meeting monthly to develop community and learn various was to accilimate into British Culutre. Each month there will be a different course covering a different theme.</p>

<p>As an artist I am interested in issues of gender, sexuality and the transgression within. Performance can play a part in the search of the relationship between identity and sexualities and questions if, when living in a part of the world where we regard ourselves to be liberated and free, how much of that freedom is actually an illusion. My work challenges the preconceptions and the connotations on how gender and sexualities are perceived. Taboos and social expectations are at the core of my current investigation as well as the meaning of non-conformity to social norms.&#34;</p>

<p>Victoria is currently living in Brighton, UK which is her fifth country of residency.</p>
