<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">By the end of the course, learners will have the ability and confidence to complete tasks in a range of formal and informal situations such as, taking part in discussions with friends or colleagues, delivering presentations, taking part in activities.</span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Learners will be working towards the speaking and listening component of a nationally recognised qualification in Functional Skills English Level 1 or Level 2. </span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">To be entered into examinations, the following criteria must be met: </span></span></span></span><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Consistently and independently producing work at Level 1 or Level 2 for speaking & listening, </span></span></span></span><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Learners must pass a mock exam.</span></span></span></span></p>
How you will learn

<p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Listen, understand and make relevant contributions with others. </span></span></span></span><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Communicate information, own views and opinions verbally. </span></span></span></span><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Apply their understanding of spoken language to adapt delivery and content to suit audience and purpose, </span></span></span></span><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Prepare and deliver short presentations on given topics. </span></span></span></span><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Communicate information, own views and opinions in writing. </span></span></span></span><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Apply their understanding of language to adapt delivery and content to suit audience and purpose, </span></span></span></span><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Read and understand different types of text of multiple sources and text types. </span></span></span></span><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Write texts of varying complexity with accuracy, effectiveness, and correct spelling, punctuation and grammar. </span></span></span></span><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">By the end of the course, learners will be expected to demonstrate these outcomes confidently and consistently.</span></span></span></span></p>
