What the course is about
<p>In the summer of 1773, Phillis Wheatley arrived in London. A poet since the age of 12, Phillis was in London for the publication of her work; making her the first African American woman to see her book in print. Explore the places in Georgian London which Phillis visited and discover which famous sights have remained, changed or disappeared since then. This workshop is suitable for all adult learners and uses images and spoken information to introduce, explore and discuss the workshop topic.</p>
<p>Priority will be given to residents of the London Borough of Camden for this workshop, however other residents of the United Kingdom are welcome to apply. This workshop will be delivered online in conjunction with the British Museum, and you will be sent a Zoom link to participate in the workshop after you have enrolled.</p>
