Description

<p><span style="font-size:16px">Practise drawing from a live model each week with a choice of drawing materials.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:16px">Model fee of £36 for the course to be paid to the tutor during first session.</span></p>

<p><strong><span style="font-size:16px">This course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge but will move online if necessary using ZOOM and email.</span></strong></p>

What can students expect?

<p><span style="font-size:16px">Working from a different model each week (clothed, nude and portrait), you will develop skills in drawing figures and faces, their shape and proportions, light and shade.  You will use a range of traditional drawing media and explore various approaches and techniques. The tutor will sometimes give an initial short demonstration, especially when you embark on using an unfamiliar technique. The models’ poses will be of longer duration than most of those in Bill’s Life Drawing courses. <strong>This course is suitable for people who have done a little drawing from life before.</strong></span></p>

Late starters allowed?

<p><span style="font-size:16px">Yes, but this is a short course, so it is best to join by week 2.</span></p>

Previous experience required?

<p><span style="font-size:16px">Yes, some experience of drawing from live observation is recommended.</span></p>

Teaching method/style?

<p><span style="font-size:16px">Through practice, with guidance and feedback. There will also be short demonstrations and plenty of help from the tutor. You will also learn from the work of your fellow students!</span></p>

Equipment Required

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><strong>Optional extras:</strong>  you might sometimes like to bring:</span></p>

<li><span style="font-size:16px">Coloured sugar-paper (to use with white chalk, pastels or charcoal)</span></li>

<li><span style="font-size:16px">Coloured water-soluble pencils</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:16px">A tube of black, white and brown water-based paint</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:16px">A couple of brushes (1 fine pointed-for lines, 1 broad-for areas)</span></li>
</ul>

<p><span style="font-size:16px">Anything else you feel like drawing with.</span></p>

Refunds and cancellations

<ul>
<li><span style="font-size:16px">If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:16px">If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:16px">If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:16px">Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:16px">We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.</span></li>
</ul>

<p><span style="font-size:16px">If you are due a refund you must contact the office within 3 months of the course to arrange payment as we do not keep card details.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:16px">When attending an online course, it is a learner’s responsibility to ensure they have adequate internet access before the start of a course. Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.</span></p>
