Drawing- Beginners/Improvers

This course offers a friendly, supportive, and structured environment for beginners to evolve into more skilled artists. It will introduce new drawing skills and techniques, as well as the use of various materials for mark-making.

You will continue to draw using pencil, charcoal, rubbers and more. You will explore line, tone and perspective through a series of exercises, designed to improve your confidence and ability.

Fee includes materials for the 1^st session.

This course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge but will move ONLINE if necessary.

Yes, but this is a short course, so it is best to join by week 2.

Yes. You should have attended a beginners’ course.

The tutor will provide materials for the 1^st session and advise you on what to buy thereafter.

If you have any of those items below already, please bring them along:

• HB, 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B pencils,
• Rubber, putty rubber,
• Charcoal
• Sketch book A4 or A3
• An apron or old shirt to protect your clothes

Stable internet connection, a tablet or PC and ability to use Zoom if course has to transfer online.

• If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.
• If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.
• If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.
• Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.
• We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.

If you are due a refund you must contact the office within 3 months of the course to arrange payment as we do not keep card details.

When attending an online course, it is a learner’s responsibility to ensure they have adequate internet access before the start of a course. Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.
