Description

A course is designed for both beginners and experienced learners who wish to delve deeper into the medium.

What can students expect?

Led by an experienced tutor, beginners will learn traditional oil painting methods, while those with some experience will develop their existing skills. Learners will work on individual projects, building confidence and ability throughout the term. This course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge.

No. Whatever your starting point, the course aims to help you improve and build your ability and confidence.

What is the progression route?

Learners progress at their own pace, continuing from one term to the next..

Are there any extra costs?

Yes. Learners supply own materials. Occasional model fee (optional)

What should students bring?

Paint (don’t buy very cheap) Daler or Windsor and Newton student quality oils-a selection including reds, blues, yellows, raw or burnt umber, and white ·

Brushes (bristle, not nylon) a selection of round and flat in various sizes incl some large size ·

Palette. Must be flat. Either tear- off pad or wooden traditional or a large smooth bathroom tile ·

Teaching method/style?

Beginners will follow a step-by-step process before creating their own paintings. Advanced learners will discuss their work's progression and pursue their goals. An iPad is useful for curating albums of admired artwork and gathering images from the internet.

Course Cancellations by Us

• If we cancel your course, your fees will be refunded in full.

• We cannot reimburse the cost of any materials you may have purchased.

Cancellations by You

• If you cancel 7 days or more before the course start date: Refund issued minus a 20% administration fee.

• If you cancel less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: No refund will be issued.

Transfers

• Transfers must be requested at least 7 days before the course start date.

• A 10% transfer fee applies.

• Transfers due to our cancellation of your original course are free of charge.

Illness and Absence

• No refunds are available for non-attendance due to sickness or ill health.

• Refunds are returned via the original payment method:

• Booked online or by phone ? Refund to the card used.

• Paid in person at Stoke Lodge ? Please bring your payment card to the office.

Online Course Access

• Learners are responsible for ensuring they have suitable internet access and equipment before the course begins.

• No refunds will be issued due to technical issues with a learner’s own internet or computer.
