Description

Learn some basic ‘survival’ French for your next visit to France or a French-speaking country, whether for holiday, visits to friends and family, business or cultural visits.

What can students expect?

To learn some basic ‘survival’ French to enable learners to cope in essential, simple situations

Topics may include: greetings and introductions, finding your way around, booking accommodation, visiting places of interest, shopping, travelling around, eating out, asking and answering questions, having a simple social conversation.

Late starters allowed?

Yes, but please check with the tutor via the admin office first

Previous experience required?

No, in fact the course is for beginners

What is the progression route?

French Level 1 A, Term 1

Are there any extra costs?

No

Work set between sessions?

Yes, some homework will be set between sessions

What should students bring?

Pen and paper

Teaching method/style?

The course is based on the communicative approach: 

- active student interaction 

- emphasis on speaking and listening skills 

- some basic reading and writing activities 

- pair, small group and whole class work 

- role play

<li>If you cancel 7 days or more before the course start date: Refund issued minus a 20% administration fee. </li>

<li>If you cancel less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: No refund will be issued. </li>

Transfers

<li>Transfers must be requested at least 7 days before the course start date. </li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>A 10% transfer fee applies. </li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Transfers due to our cancellation of your original course are free of charge. </li>
</ul>

 

Illness and Absence

<li>No refunds are available for non-attendance due to sickness or ill health.</li>
</ul>

Refunds are returned via the original payment method:

<li>Paid in person at Stoke Lodge - Please bring your payment card to the office.</li>
