Description

A 2-day workshop where you will earn all you need to know to make beautiful lined handmade curtains. 

This workshop will be delivered at Stoke Lodge.

What can students expect?

At the end of the 2 days, you will take home your own sample curtains to keep and use as a reference point for future projects. You will learn:

<ul>
<li>How to measure correctly your windows and work out how much fabric you need</li>
<li>How to cut your fabric</li>
<li>What makes good fabric for curtains</li>
<li>How to line your curtains</li>
<li>Different types of heading: pencil pleat; goblet; double/triple pleats </li>
</ul>

And much more! 

Fee includes all the fabric needed to produce a sample curtain - all you need to bring is lunch.

Sewing machines are available but you may wish to bring your own. The tutor will contact you in advance to discuss.

Late starters allowed?

No. This is a short workshop with a lot to cover so best to attend both days in full.

Previous experience required?

Yes. This workshop is more suitable for those with some sewing experience.

What is the progression route?

Other sewing courses at Stoke Lodge.

What should students bring?

To the 1st session, please bring:

<li>A pencil and note pad will be useful for note taking. </li>
<li>Scissors</li>
<li>Hand sewing needles and thread </li>
<li>Tape measure </li>
<li>Seam un-picker </li>
<li>Pins</li>
<li>Sewing machines are available to use but you may wish to bring your own.</li>
</ul>

Teaching method/style?

The course is all practical. The tutor will demonstrate techniques that you will then apply.

Refunds and cancellations

<ul>
<li>If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</li>
<li>If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.</li>
<li>If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.</li>
<li>Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.</li>
<li>We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.</li>
</ul>

If you are due a refund you must contact the office within 3 months of the course to arrange payment as we do not keep card details.

When attending an online course, it is a learner’s responsibility to ensure they have adequate internet access before the start of a course. Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.
