<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif"><span style="color:black">This course will enable you to design and make your own stained-glass piece of art. Suitable for beginners. Fee includes classroom sundries; learners can purchase coloured glass, lead and solder from the tutor or from a local supplier.</span></span></span><strong> </strong></p>

What can students expect?

<p><span style="font-size:16px">Beginners will be guided through all the stages involved in making a simple small leaded or copperfoiled panel, from design through to cutting, leading or foiling, soldering and finishing techniques. Improvers will also be accomodated and can plan individual projected with tutor support and learn new techniques.</span></p>

Late starters allowed?

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif">Yes, but this is a short course, so it is best to join by week 2. </span></span></p>

Previous experience required?

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif">This is a beginners course but <span style="background-color:#fbfbfc">improvers wanting to gain more experience will also be accommodated.</span></span></span></p>

What is the progression route?

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif">You can continue with another course in the same class to develop your skills in design and making and also participate in the Summer School. After 3 terms of beginners courses you can progress onto the Intermediate level.</span></span></p>

Work set between sessions?

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif">Students can continue their studies between classes researching on the internet or working on developing sketches and designs. They can also order materials from a local supplier if they want to buy their glass directly. There is no homework set specifically.</span></span></p>

What should students bring?

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><strong><span style="color:black; font-family:Arial,sans-serif">To the 1st session, please bring:</span></strong></span></p>

<li><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="color:black; font-family:Arial,sans-serif">Coloured art materials if you have any for design. Bring what you have, no need to purchase any especially</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="color:black; font-family:Arial,sans-serif">Two or three different ideas- these could be pictures, original doodles or sketches, postcards, pictures from magazines, photos, art books anything to act as a starting point for your design</span></span></li>

Teaching method/style?

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif">Formal teaching and demonstrations. One to one tutor support and learning checks and group discussions, books, photos and samples for study.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif">We have all the equipment you need to get started. The tutor can advise you if you choose to purchase any of your own equipment. </span><span style="color:black; font-family:Arial,sans-serif">Fee includes classroom sundries (</span><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif">e.g. paper, masking tape, tracing paper, glass cleaner, kiln shelf paper, two strips of solder, fluxes, white spirit, patinas, glass paints, etc).</span></span></p>

Refunds and cancellations

<li><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif">If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif">If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif">If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif">Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif">We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.</span></span></li>

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif">If you are due a refund you must contact the office within 3 months of the course to arrange payment as we do not keep card details.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif">When attending an online course, it is a learner’s responsibility to ensure they have adequate internet access before the start of a course. Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.</span></span></p>
