Description

<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">A course for learners who have studied Italian to a fairly advanced level and who wish to improve their accuracy, their pronunciation and widen their vocabulary to cover many different topics.</span> </span></span></p>

What can students expect?

<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">To be in a group, with a supportive tutor, where they will be given the opportunity to take part in discussions and conversations on a broad choice of topics, and a range of activities, such as reading, listening, completing exercises, in order to increase their confidence and knowledge in a friendly atmosphere. </span> </span></span></p>

Late starters allowed?

<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">Yes, provided late starters can work at the same level as the rest of the class at the time of joining.</span> </span></span></p>

Previous experience required?

<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="background-color:white"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif"><span style="color:black">Yes, learners need to have completed Italian courses at Level 1 and 2, ie have ideally studied Italian for at least 5 years, and be fairly proficient and fluent.</span></span></span></span> </p>

Work set between sessions?

<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">Yes, homework is usually set every week. It might consist of reading a text and making a note of new words, completing exercises to practice grammar points, learning new vocabulary, preparing a presentation on a set, or individually chosen topic or personality, or writing a short text.  </span></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">Homework is checked in class as an opportunity for explanations and clarifications.</span></span></p>

What should students bring?

<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif">Notebook and pen</span><span style="font-family:Times New Roman, serif">.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">An advanced Italian dictionary would also be very useful, but is not essential.</span></span></span></p>

Teaching method/style?

<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="background-color:white"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif"><span style="color:black">A mix of discussions, informal conversation to expand vocabulary and confidence, repetitions of structures and written exercises to improve grammar and accuracy, reading aloud to improve pronunciation, reading articles to expand vocabulary and cultural awareness, listening comprehension practice.</span></span></span></span> </p>

Refunds and cancellations

<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.</span></span></span></li>

Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.</span></span></span></p>
