What can students expect?

En quoi consiste ce cours ?

Vous serez dans un groupe animé et soutenu par le professeur. Vous participerez à des discussions sur une grande variété de sujets: des articles de journaux, du cinéma, de la vie courante et des sujets qui intéressent les membres de la classe. Vous développerez votre confiance dans la communication en Français dans une atmosphère sympa et informel en écoutant, lisant, regardant et faisant des exercices.

Dans ce cours nous allons :

• améliorer leur prononciation

• parler plus couramment en faisant des exercices de grammaires

• étendre leur vocabulaire 

• discuter de sujets pratiques 

 

Ce cours s'adresse à des personnes qui ont un bon niveau de français et qui veulent approfondir leurs connaissances ainsi que parler plus couramment, améliorer leur prononciation et élargir leur vocabulaire dans une variété de domaines.

To be in a group, with a supportive tutor, where they will be given the opportunity to take part in discussions and conversations on a broad choice of topics (current affairs, cinema, tourism, and any subjects that interest the class…) and a range of activities, such as reading, listening, completing exercises, in order to increase their confidence and knowledge in a friendly atmosphere. 

 

To build on existing knowledge and to

<li>improve fluency and pronunciation through conversation </li>
<li>improve accuracy through grammar exercises </li>
<li>expand vocabulary through the reading of texts on various topics</li>
<li>talk about practical or topical subjects</li>
</ul>

 

The course is for learners who have studied French to a fairly advanced level and who wish to improve their accuracy, their pronunciation and widen their vocabulary to cover many different topics (social, political and cultural)

Yes, provided late starters can work at the same level as the rest of the class at the time of joining.

Ou les étudiants peuvent rester à ce niveau. Chaque année le cours est différent car il est adapté aux intérêts des étudiants présent et le matériel utilisé change.

Join the highest level, French Level 3 C&D; or learners could join the same course, when a similar pattern is used with a different choice of topics and new material.

Work set between sessions?

Y-a-t-il des devoirs ?

Oui. Généralement des articles à lire en notant le nouveau vocabulaire et en préparant des points de discussion et des commentaires. Quelquefois il y a des devoirs écris, des présentations orales sur des sujets choisis par les étudiants.

Yes. Homework is set. It usually consists of reading an article, making a note of new vocabulary and preparing for discussions or comments. Sometimes, homework consists of some writing, sometimes preparing a short presentation on a set or individually chosen topic.

Méthode utilisé?

Beaucoup de discussions. Les étudiants lirons des articles en ligne, écouter des podcasts et des enregistrements ainsi qu’écouter les autres étudiants. Regarder des petites vidéos et faire des exercices.

Mainly discussions and conversations. Also reading articles online, listening to recordings, podcasts and to peers, watch short videos, gap filling exercises, Q&A, quizzes, etc

Refunds and cancellations

<ul>
<li>If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</li>
<li>If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.</li>
<li>If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.</li>
<li>Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.</li>
<li>We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.</li>
</ul>

If you are due a refund you must contact the office within 3 months of the course to arrange payment as we do not keep card details.

When attending an online course, it is a learner’s responsibility to ensure they have adequate internet access before the start of a course. Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.
