How To Read Literature Like A Literary Critic

But how do authors make us feel what we feel? This course will unlock the mechanics of our favourite literary texts and support learners to read like literary critics. <strong>This course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge.</strong></span></span></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">Learners can expect to read a range of classic and contemporary texts, including novels, poetry and drama, with a view to understanding and discussing not just the ‘events’ of the text, but also the various techniques which the author has deployed to present them. We will discuss questions such as: what is aesthetic form and narrative voice? How do they work? And what does it mean to &#039;read closely&#039;? Whether learners want to think more deeply about literature to aid their own writing, or just want to explore their favourite works more thoroughly, this course will support them to analyse texts like literary critics. <strong>This course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge.</strong></span></span></span></p>
